The Sands of Time

By Sierra

I have been alone for years too long.
For years I wandered this land.
For years I protected this land.
For years I wished for a death of my own.

To the ends of the earth, I have searched.
I have searched for civilization.
I have searched for company.
I have searched for signs of life.

Through every empire, life has teased me.
Life would bring me joy anew.
Life would mock me with is frailty.
Life would curse me with loneliness.

When does the last grain of sand drop?
Beyond life and death.
Beyond joy and sorrow.
I alone remain forgotten by time.
