The Sea Calms the Heart

By natty b

The wind in my hair,
I watched the waves:
Brilliant diamonds crashing,
Seaspray in the air.

Fingers gripped wooden rails,
Footsteps clattered about.
Eyes gazed at the crisp white sails,
Ears heard laughter and shouts.

Salty stickiness on skin,
Bright sun beating down.
Peace found deep within;
A smile replacing the frown.
