The Searcher

As I crawled through the shadows of light, I cried!
For some things cannot be obtained-
It was the thought of me never reaching
Human values, of which there's no refrain!
I knew in the light He was waiting...
I stumbled, I fell, I explained.
While my words and my love were debating,
I squandered my years with my pain!
Knowing the answers before me,
I blindly omitted, insane.
Clothed in my humanity, I followed-
Pursuing the rules of the game!
As modest in my eyes of fulfillment,
I stayed in my soul contained.
I pictured Him, yet there waiting
In tears, with my choices of gain!
As I crawled through the shadows of light, I cried!
As I crawled through the shadows of light, I died!
