The Season

We started from nothing
We were not the best
It felt like a test
Then that season came
We rose to fame
With the smallest amount
But it didn't matter the count
We played them well
Some of them felt like hell
Then the big one came
It wasn't the same
Of course we were sad
Because it was bad
We may have lost
Our season was tossed
But being led by numbers seven, three, thirty-four and fifty-eight
We will always be great
Our legacy will stay
No matter how long we're away
Because we are brothers
And we're not like the others

This Poems Story

What inspired me to write my poem was that the football season I had with my teammates as a freshman on a varsity football team in high school. This was the best football season in school history. Although we lost in the semi-finals, we still would be one of the best football teams in school history. We will and always be brothers.
