The Seasons I Remember
The memories of summer are etched in my mind
With long walks on beaches, finding shells of all kinds
The holidays were especially fun
With picnics, water skiing, and bathing in the sun.
Fourth of July was the best of all
With family, fireworks, and playing ball.
Autumn is a most wondrous time.
It is a season of beauty sublime.
The bursting colors of the changing leaves
And wearing sweaters so we wouldn't freeze
Watching football and baseball on a Sunday afternoon
Children trick or treating by the light of the harvest moon.
Winter is a time of fun, playing in the snow
With boots, hats, and mittens and cheeks all aglow
Making snowmen, throwing snowballs, was a family affair
Sledding and skating with icicles hanging in the crisp air
Caroling is the best with scarves wrapped round our necks
And standing neath the mistletoe hoping for a peck
Spring is a time of rebirth.
The beauty of nature all round the earth.
The waters once frozen have thawed and are flowin'
And colors are showin' as the flowers are growin'.
The birds have returned with their song.
The hours of sunshine grow long.
