The Secret Hour

In darkness, I succumbed to evil's sway.
A demon's grip, that fateful day.
My hands, now stained with innocent blood.
A friend, lost forever, in a fatal flood.

One AM, one PM, time lost all sense.
As possession took its cruel defense.
Two AM, two PM, the hours ticked by.
My heart, now shrouded, in a murderer's sigh.

I ran, but guilt pursued me relentlessly.
Caught, at last, in a prisoner's agony.
Yes, I killed her, my dearest friend.
A bond, now broken, till the very end.

A monster, they call me, and it's true.
My hands, forever stained, with blood anew.
Midnight, once a peaceful, sacred hour.
Now, a haunting reminder, of life's greatest power.

Betrayal, a motive, or so I claimed.
But deep within, a darker truth remained.
A friendship, pure, now tainted red.
A bond, destroyed, in a moment's dread.

Oh, the agony, that midnight brought.
A sadness, that will forever be caught.
In the shadows, where darkness reigns
A memory, that refuses to wane.

Call me a monster, and it's just
For in that moment, I lost my trust.
In myself, in humanity's light
A midnight tragedy, forever in sight.
