The Serin

She had beautiful eyes, the type you can get lost in
I guess I did.
I'd been falling for her all of my life, unknowing
Honing in on her humm
Swaying like the breeze
Swimming in her love like a vast ocean
That's when it hit me.
As the icy cold water filled my lungs
As my arms reached for something to hold
As she sung that beautiful humm watching me drown
The salty needles filling my throat not even the energy to scream
The last thing my fingertips held; her scaly tale
The Serin
