The Ship and the Sailor

The ship that sailed the stormy seas
Had finally come ashore
Battered and beaten by wind and rain
It sailed the seas no more
A sailor came upon the wreck
He was a mighty man
Who gently caressed her hardwood decks
With rough, hard-working hands
He mended her holes and polished her bow
And painted her fore and aft
And though it was a thankless job
He carried out his task
And when the sailor was finished
The ship was never the same
He sailed her away on a sea of dreams
And"True Love" was her name.
