The Silent Critic

What is a stare?
A blend of a pair of eyes and eyebrows, a mouth, and a head position
You know when a stare is provocative, when it is demeaning, or
When it shows curiosity. A stare can shine a light on you
To make you feel unique and special
It can also make you smile and smirk.
A stare can burn through your skin and melt you away.

Something that infuriates many
Is the handling of large items, especially on public transportation,
And others stare. The thing is they stare as if they care,
When we all know they only laugh. Their eyes are closed at half
With chins lifted high and necks stretched so far
That they look like giraffes.

A stare is powerful, no matter what you think,
Almost as powerful as words written in ink.
Be straightforward, and think that
One little stare can make a person feel like splat.
