The Skipping Boy

A boy who skips is a happy boy.
A boy who skips is full of joy.
Here he is in his own little world,
Where happy thoughts are unfurled.

Do not disturb this happy boy,
As he skips along in a haze of joy.
Life will come crashing down, soon.
Sun filled days will yield to a hazy moon.

Little boy's life becomes hard and brittle.
Taunts and fights with fists and spittle,
Will then replace a smile or a tune.
There shall be woes 'neath the hazy moon.

How our weary hearts beat with joy.
Upon seeing that carefree skipping boy.
Do not disturb his Summer of fun.
He's growing older, joy will be done.
