The Snowboarder

Terror was thick in the air,
The boy screamed on and on.
The whispers flew,
It,s so terrible, he has broken his neck!
Everyone felt so bad, to have witnessed this horror.
Yes,it was sad for them to see
But what pain and sorrow was yet to come.
His parents fighting to grasp how, why?
His siblings shocked,
What about his youth?
What about the rest of his life?
Did any of them understand what it all meant for him?

This Poems Story

This poem inspired me the night my friends son was paralyzed from the waist down trying out his new snowboard. As shocked as I was to hear, I couldn't imagine how he must feel about his life ahead of him!
