The Soul Rediscovered

In the silence we find the soul
Loud clangs of life muffle its cries
No busy striving can console
Each moment you ignore, it dies

Peace is found just in the present
Past is gone, the future a dream
Life that's wasted let us lament
We throw a wrench in life's grand scheme

How distracted we truly are
Too much steady information
Precious tranquility we mar
Understandable frustration

We are our own worst enemy
Until we somehow awaken
We are slowly able to see
our time was wasted, not taken

So find a place to walk or sit
away from all the disarray
Let go now of the counterfeit
Rediscover your soul today
