The Space Between

Tolerant light breaks through
what seems to be a brilliantly bright future.
When breath can sail upon the weight of wind
it sweeps you away on clouds of memories
old and unmade.

I shrink
Beneath the magnitude of power
that lies within the space between thought and action.
This strangely subtle interaction
sways with gentle touch,
but remains still in the face of storms unseen.

As crackling energy fills the night sky,
elemental persuasion slips from suggestion to fact,
tearing the ego from a strained mind
until there is nothing but black remains,
abstract and unstained this space makes life and death
seem small,
an infinitesimal speck in the vastness of it all.
