The Stage

To have and to hold,
To brace and embrace
In state and in fold,
In the context of place;

To take and to share
In a moment of joy,
To keep and to bear
The profound and the coy;

To discern and enhance
The dignity of one's taste,
To determine the chance
In the crosshairs of waste;

To rally the storm
In the season of night,
To worship the form
In the workshop's brave light.
