The Stillness Of Time

By Hannah

A demon
From the past
Comes creeping around the corner
Trying to take hold of my shoulders
And shake me to my core
But I brush it off
And think of all my aspirations
How I will be
An astronaut
A botanist
An ocean biologist
All in this one lifetime
I will always let my imagination soar
Yet I make myself stand still
In a world spinning for survival
I chain myself to its stature
Wondering if I will ever spin
For the survival of my own heart
Knowing I am a grinch
Without dreams

This Poems Story

The only reason I dont touch the stars is because my fears rise from the depths of hell and burn themselves into me, chaining me to the ground.
