The Stone

If you're scared of getting hurt, here's what you do.
Wear this stone around your neck as long as you
Have decided to protect yourself from love.
It will serve you as a shield and as a sword,
To ensure that you are never getting hurt.
Just remember, not a necklace, not a toy,
Do not lose it, do not gift it, just enjoy.
It will glare with defensive, blinding light,
If it feels as if your heart is in a fight.
It will gear up all apathy it is has,
And allow you to be emotionless.
But be warned you won't be able to survive
If your heart does not allow any light.
And you won't be able to remove the stone,
Once you close your heart, you lose it all!
Only vulnerability and trust guide you far away
From mere lust.
Only taking-risks at getting hurt
Can ensure that you eat dessert!
So if you decide to fully live,
Cut the stone, throw it away, and give!
