The Summer Storm 1

By JennB

The stars glowed like any other night.
He kissed her right there, in the moonlight.
It was a rush, so romantic, yet out of control.
Neither had felt this. It was a meeting of souls.
This wasn’t a night like all the others before.
She needed him, wanted him, wanted so much more.
It was new and exciting. It was scary and real.
He needed her, wanted her, he couldn’t wait until
They’d see each other again, and further explore,
This electric connection they’d never felt before.
It burn hot, it burned fast, it consumed them complete.
It happened so fast in the summertime heat.

Just like a flash in a mid-summer storm,
They grew so close on those nights so warm.
How could it be wrong? It felt so right.
Crashing and coming together each night,
Learning and loving, maybe moving too fast,
But the heat in their hearts was meant to last.

Both were just trying to find what it was,
The lightning, the passion, the fire, the buzz.
Really weren’t sure if it’d end or if it’d last.
They couldnt get enough, were moving so fast.
But neither could deny the connection they felt.
Together they clicked, into each other they melt.
She never had done this, neither had he.
That made it more perfect, it felt meant to be.
They were scared it would end and they’d both be alone,
But what scared them more was the unknown.
They searched and they learned, it was tender and sweet.
It happened so fast in that summertime heat.

Just like a flash in a mid-summer storm.
They grew so close on those nights so warm.
How could it be wrong? It felt so right.
Crashing and coming together each night,
Learning and loving, maybe moving too fast,
But the heat in their hearts was meant to last.

Fall breezes blew them their separate ways.
A few cards and calls and they drifted away.
Neither could forget those long summer nights.
Two souls had connected, two bodies held tight.
Both longed for the other, their touch and their voice.
It took time but both made the very same choice.
She needed him, wanted him, wanted so much more.
He needed her, wanted her, as much as before.
That lightning, that passion, that fire, that buzz,
It only happened together, they knew what it was.
The future was hard to picture apart it seemed,
It happened so fast in that summertime heat.

Just like a flash in a mid-summer storm.
They grew so close on those nights so warm.
How could it be wrong? It felt so right.
Crashing and coming together each night,
Learning and loving, maybe moving too fast,
But the heat in their hearts was meant to last.
