The Sun Also Rises

Grandpa catches the first glimpse
When the sun begins rising
Stories flow into his mind like a black-and-white movie

Planes act like cuckoos
Embrace a perfect storm
Soldiers can't stop shivering
Wonder if there is still camaraderie
Buildings start getting shaky
Baby's crying makes a bizarre symphony

Weep and hope, hope and pray
Here comes the dawn of integrity
Tear up the mask of dreadful evil
Joy bursts into tears
Yet grief remains unfriendly
Knell accompanies courageous body

Grandpa wakes up from his dream
Scared and Sweaty
Sky glimmers like a ruby
