THE SWALLOWS RETURN

Flown all my days
Trying to embrace
The speed I travelled
A vortex of beauty
I feel it creates
Telling its’ story
By the scar
That is on the
Right side of my face
I take off
Feels like
I’m getting closer to heaven
When my friends start to fly
How violent their cries
Of my fellow swallows
Caught by surprise
The rest of us fly on
To brighter days
The warmer days
We yearned
It is us the swallows
In the summer, we returned
We bathe our fur
In the sunset
High above on a wire
We are back
Our chirping and chattering
Announces our return in a choir…
