The Talking Armadillo

As I was walking to the store one day,
I saw a friend along the way.
I waved to her, she waved to me...
And behind her, I could plainly see
A talking armadillo.

I looked at him, at me he stared;
And coming forward, quick as he dared,
To my surprise he said to me,
"Do you have change for twenty, please?"
The talking armadillo.

"So many people find it strange,
That I should come and ask for change.
You see, they do not comprehend
That for a family I, too, must fend,"
The talking armadillo.

"You see, the creatures are like I.
Like you, we live; and like you, we die.
We eat and sleep and work and play;
And why you cant see this, I cant say."
The talking armadillo.
