The Teacher

Have my apologies dear friend,
But I am your best teacher.
You may not want me any time,
But your wish does not really matter.

Don't you remember your early days,
When you began to stumble?
It was I who taught you,
The need to be and stay humble.

Today I am like an orphan,
And you won't own me anymore.
I have your pity though,
Though I am not the one you adore.

However, I shall always be near.
-The wise but lonely failure.
