The Things I Carry

My internal seasons
The freshness of a new start
The smells of pretty flowers
The taste of summer to come, a new love for living
The excitement of a moment
The intensity of fun
The heat of my powerful thoughts
The panic of knowing what comes after something starts
The jitteriness of June still in my veins
A sense of conformity, my knotted stomach
Anxiety because there is nothing i can do about the changing leaves
The hearts of those i love
A very unhealthy weapon
A constant shiver from the cold despondency
The beauty of the snow lost in my heart
Sinister smiles from the dark art
An overwhelming sadness that comes with the cold
My tears in a jar
An inner peace, a deeper heart, a deeper mind
The last clump of snow in the streets
Knowledge of the new year
Hope that a change in the leaves is near
The gratefulness for this second chance
The fragrance of emotional nostalgia
The taste of joy
Another day, a new love for living
