The Thorns of a Cactus

Lost on an empty road
No sights,
No people

A tumbleweed rolls past,
Dragging with it,
One hundred sorrows

It rolls toward the desert and gets
Stuck
On the thorns of a cactus

The wind blows
In hopes to carry it on,
But isn't strong enough

The tumbleweed lies there,
Helpless
It makes itself at home
Stuck
On the thorns of a cactus
