The time frame contracts for marriage

Until death do us part, we always did say.
But the high divorce rate got in our way.
Now we think differently and for us that's okay.
We can now sign a contract for a much shorter stay.
Congress might help us by passing an act.
And a marriage partnership will be ruled by a pact.
A two year, five year, ten or more, how long we will stay is decided before.
You and your love will create a new font that will keep you together for as long as you want.
Like a rental agreement signed on a wall, a marriage is no longer one size fits all.
We ask ourselves why we are taking the walk and then sign a contract that agrees with our talk.
When our pact runs out we are free to take flight and know that we'll never have need for a fight.
No lawyers for us, no reason to cry, we can just wear a smile as we wave a good-bye.
