The Trophy Shelf

Why attend the ceremony,
if you're not the one who's winning
yet you sit in agony,
and watch the others grinning.

as you squirm in your seat,
you watch them look oh so glad
as they completely obsess
over this trophy fad

of course I'm not jealous,
you could buy those things in a store
and the only use for them anyway
is saying you have more

you try to make me jealous,
with the things you've won since twelve
by displaying them up proudly,
upon the trophy shelve
