The Truth?

He was only thirteen when he got jumped
over a phone, but he didn't let up.
Now he's eighteen, living his life the same as always,
Drug deals and smoking, doing anything to get paid.
He WAS someone I KNEW, but now I'm not so sure.
All he knew was hardships, all he knew was being poor.
Now he's like a lord, everyone wanting something from him.
He has a little brother who might end up like him.
I just hope he gets straight and doesn't end up dead in the pen.
He WAS someone I KNEW, but now I'm not so sure.
