The Truth About Living

By Hannah

I
took
a
step.
My first reach towards the future. Suddenly everything slowed down, then came to a sudden stop. I was sinking. I looked down, there was quicksand surrounding my every move. Sinking faster than I could see life flashing before my eyes. I panicked and realized, waiting so long for something so small was ludicrous. I wasted my whole life away worrying about a decision I chose wrong anyways. And that's what defined life for me. Life is sinking in a chair colder than my heart, decaying in the waiting room, knowing I’m stuck there forever because if I try to stand up I’ll get whisked away into the sky, taking refuge in the stars.
