The Truth About You

Truth be told, I was yours before we spoke
I laughed at every silly joke
Truth be told, your eyes drew me in
Your heart of gold, I knew I had to win
Truth be told, I trusted you with everything
Your voice was pure like an early spring
Truth be told, I loved you before we ever kissed
I wasn't prepared for our story's plot twist
Truth be told, you were quite handsome at a glance
You were too good at romance
Truth be told, I should've known better
I wasn't the only girl who wore your warm sweater
Truth be told, I was naive
All your lies and stories I had to believe
Truth be told, you always looked scared
Like someday I might find out, your love I shared
Truth be told, I know better now
You broke your promise and your vow
Truth be told, you are no good
I would've done anything for you, you knew I would
Truth be told, I miss you sometimes
But I can never forgive your unfaithful crimes
Truth be told, I love you still
Forevermore, I always will
