The Unfortunate Truth

Thoughts intermingled; it's a giant spider web.
The result is confusion,
There's no clear path to take.
The mind's a funny thing,
Just think about it.
It's capable of creating wonders
But also destroying.
It's mankind's greatest weapon,
And it's worst enemy.
It's sad how vulnerable our minds are.
Yet all the more unfortunate
Is the fact that they can't be protected.
It fascinates me how it's possible to
Get away from people, places,
Whatever social or environmental issues
We're dealing with in our everyday lives.
Yet our most debilitating problem - our thoughts -
Cannot be escaped.
