The Unknown

Questions are asked all around
I hear their voices calling me
But while my voice is mute
the answers echo in my head.

Faces coming in and out
Acting like they know
All I want are answers
But all I get is sorry

I want to be free
Free from the worry of loss
Free from the doubt of happiness
But these white walls are caging me in.

My mind is floating away
Yet it’s chained to the spot
Old memories flood my vision
Making it impossible to focus

Seconds feel like hours
And minutes feel like years.
Doors sound like gunshots
And I am unable to breath.

The doctor calls my name
I pray for good news.
