Verily, verily, I say unto you,
alas I have found you, a love so true.
I was empty and barren,
like a fig tree without leaves,
as the charlatans, the diggers of gold,
did with me whatever they pleased.
Longing for love I was brought to my knees,
by the fragrant smell of the likes of these.
But, you can only be broken, but so many times,
which drove me to a place to create these rhymes.
