The Virtuous Vine

Perfecting my life
Through the rid of my pride
When I've broken my vices
They'll need not be denied
I dreamt of a rose
Of the most virtuous vine
a deep winter's bloom is
So uniquely divine
An angel's white velvet
Drips with the devil's red wine
And a diamond cut thorn
For your sharpest of mind
What a rare claim to beauty
As it all fades in time
But no matter her years
I'd remember her prime
As the thought of her smile
And its radiant shine
Brought peace to my struggle
That this rose wasn't mine
