The Void Inside

A feeling of inadequacy
We know there is more,
We survey our lives and see no constancy,
No thought to a higher being or what is at our core,

We attempt to fill a void,
Erase the emptiness inside,
We begin doing things we used to avoid
Attempting to forget that soon we have to decide

For the voice inside wont allow us,
To fill that void we came to hate,
We then remove the ones we trust,
A dreadful reminder of our sad state,

Then as a sudden light fills the darkness,
A joyous reunion of One who can fill the void
We once again begin to feel a semblance of awareness,
And now, only now, are we whole, as God fills the void.
