The Waters Wide

The water holds the sky
Bathed in grey, bruised and beautiful
And carries it away in the flowing eddies
Undulating silky sheets of silver
Blanketing the world above me
I close my eyes and drift with the tide
Bathed in grey, the waters wide
A bed of currents, tucked in tight
Limbs wrapped in cold, tangled sheets
Pulling mindlessly along the course
The world paved for me long ago
Sinking in the icy flow
Journey of the depths below
Bathed in grey, the waters wide
