The Waves

I was floating like I was weightless
The waves rocking me like my mother did when I was little
The sun wrapping what skin was exposed with warmth
The crystal clear water doing the opposite
Keeping my body cool and refreshed
The entire time the world went silent
My ears underwater, keeping the noise away
I have never felt so at peace, so happy
The saltwater splashing on my face leaving a salty taste in my mouth
My hair floating around me as if it had a life of its own
Then, a splash broke the trance, and the peace was over
I rejoined the rest of the world, but never forgetting the tranquility the ocean gave me
