The way I goes

nagging thoughts patter over my brain like footsteps in the rain
begging for reprieve at every turn as slowly the anxiety gathers up a heap of misery
more and more they build walls around every turn inside and out
tensing every muscle, every ounce
quickly breath winds tight and rushed
raging quivers abound
nothing can escape this madness
its claws fixed within thy skin and mind
pinching off resistence as it forces you to drown
