The Ways of a Thinker

A ray of sunlight or a shadow in the dark
use a lighter to fire the spark
an arrow to hit the target mark

Are you as silent and swift as wind
sharper than the tip of a pen
pending the boundaries of thick and thin

Or are you louder than cymbals crashing?
Do you want to hear me scream, hear me shout?
I'm not going to sit here and pout
but shall you doubt that I have a brain of my own
there will be a problem

So I am standing here with my two feet planted
but I will not be tainted
Your words will not hurt me
for I am a thinker
