The Ways Of The World
The woods whisper to me
"Come to me"
Begging me to divulge it's secrets
The waters sing to my heart
"Drink from me"
Smooth as glass with no reflection,
The grass reaches for me
"Lay in me"
The sweet smell of dew taunts me
As I walk forward in a daze
The snakes sing to my soul
"Play with me"
Piercing sharp fangs enter me as
Toxins fill my system
I lie in the still grasses
breathing in my surroundings as
I slowly become one with the forest
Stuck inside of my own mind, wicked, corrupt
Waiting for that one curious traveler
Who dares to enter our depths
Who hears our sweet song
Who will become one of our secrets
No one leaves us unchanged
