The widows path

The Widows Path

Our couple’s path I walk alone
Each step I take on cobblestones
My thoughts now seem to ramble on
Your soul set free forever gone

This endless path that’s rough as hell
Where Loneliness and sorrows dwell
Depressions puddles all around
Here sanity and clear thoughts drown

The voice of each dear one and friend
Console with love around each bend
With words of hope, and strength, and care
To patch the bridge of disrepair

It seems the only comfort found
Is securely wrapped and profound
It holds each thought and memory
Of how it was and ought to be

Good memories will flash in view
On evenings that I walk with you
We seem to thrive along this mile
Tonight again you’ve made me smile
