The Wild Mare By The Sea

I am the wind that whips across the waves
The very same wind that weaves through my mane
As I run across the great expanse before me
Leaving my legacy in the sand behind me

I laugh as I run
With such a rush from the grand adventure
Of galloping the great distance
That is seemingly so short

My heart beats fast
My breath quickening as I pass by the sea
Not even stopping for the view
For the pounding of my feet is a music I never want to stop

I run and I run from my home by the shore
A joy in my heart as I soar
I fly, or do I gallop?
It is no different to me
For all I need is freedom, no matter what it's called
