The World

Trees stand where they have stood since ancient times,
Where mountains haven't moved a single inch.
Where the ocean has been sitting confined.

Where animals survive many a pinch,
Where insects live mostly in fear of us.
Where the sky is the earth's outermost fringe.

Where we as humans do need to adjust,
Where technology has taken over.
Where we as humans don't try to discuss.

Where outer space sends us rocks like boulders,
The place we are privileged to call our own.
Where we as a race are getting colder.

A place that has many things yet well known.
A place full of secrets and surprises,
A place that has yet to be fully grown.
