the world was on fire

I had a dream.
The world was on fire.
I was ok with that.
I could accept the end,
Be alright with it.
At peace with oblivion
Or eternity
Whichever comes first.
Then as I let the smoke fill my lungs
I could see your sweet smile
And your lovely eyes
And I didn’t want to go just yet.
Forever was never enough time
You hold my body close to you
Till we’re both simply burning
Flames consuming
I remember that I love you
You say you couldn’t live without me.
This isn’t right.
I wake
Because you would never lie to me that way.
You could never say you loved me
You never have.
