There is always hope throughout the darkness

It's cold and wet and the darkness sets in,
we fumble for words and tumble to the ground.
We've lost hope, where can we find our light?
Where is the warmth? The trees awaken, the
pincones crackle and fall to the ground. The
fireflies buzz by and the gentle wind whispers
through our ears. The leaves shake, the gravel
sits still. The moon shines bright, the stars twinkle,
there is stillness. We are still, frozen in time with no hope.
When will this feeling pass? Further, there is a garden,
as we walk pass the ferns, and birch trees. A lovely pumkins
sits still in the moonlight. It takes careful attention to grow,
slowly throughout the darkness, it still grows. A gentle wind
blows by, we catch a sign of warmth. As we lookup, birds fly
by, feathers fall all around. There is hope as we catch one in
our hand. The animals awaken and their songs are heard.
The fresh smell of life awakens us and a smile is on our faces.
We have found ourselves and we were here all along.

This Poems Story

Another poem that was derived from a painting I made. I wrote it while I was suffering from a depression and used poetry as a gateway to how I felt. And using imagery and my imagination, I pictured myself getting out of the mood/situation. Put into words and poetry.
