There Is Still Dawn
Understanding eludes me
Consumed by loss, filled with anger,
A pain from my soul has come forth.
My only response, why?
Then, in remembering I know.
There will never be more than I can bear.
Through the darkest forest there is still dawn.
From hopelessness, I can find strength,
And from the depths, I can see the lights of love.
The faces of those that depend on me.
Although I cannot understand why,
I know for all things there is a reason.
I must continue, of this I am sure.
There are many who still need me.
And yes, there is one who needs nothing.
Because in God's grace and loving embrace,
He is protected, strong, and home.
