There it is Baby

By

I was drunk from lack of sleep
and feeling the wait of all my years
I had lost my common sense
but it stripped from me my fears
so I stumbled out of bed
dragged my feet across the floor
I don't know why I turned around
when I finally reached the door

but there it is baby
and there it is my dear
and there you are my darling
my reason for being here

well I lingered in the doorway
rest my head against the jam
I was not thinking 'bout no bacon
I was not thinking 'bout no ham
I was looking at my lover
who was sleeping over there
with her hair upon my pillow
and the sunlight in her hair

and there it is baby
there it is my dear
