There’s a Moment

There's a moment when you survey the land and all seems barren.
All have left.
All have exited the scene.
But then you look at what's standing right there next to you.
Almost in your shadow.
Ready to peek out and be seen.
All haven't left.
They are there.
Their smiles light the way until your way has been found.
They are what lights you.
Lights you from within.
Within your core.
Within the confines of who you are.
They know you.
Whether you know it or not,
they've figured you out.
And when you realize that...
when you realize that it's ok to be that vulnerable to another,
let alone 2 of them,
your peace begins to form.
To solidify.
To take shape.
And you're so content.
The relief washes over you,
and all is right.
All over the land that you survey.
