There’s A Thousand People Watching

There’s a thousand people watching,
Ready as if to pounce;
Eyes peeled and fingers waiting
To point out your every flaw.

Yes, you try to avoid them
Ignore and shake your head;
They attempt to steal your every joy,
And leave your heart for dead.

Judgment and whispers at all you do,
Like flies they won’t leave you alone;
Looking above for some kind of help,
Those voices wear to the bone.

But shut it out and focus hard
On what you know to do;
There’s a thousand people watching,
But I believe in you.
