There’s Hope

there's hope in that baby's eyes.
although her mama's only seventeen-
and her daddy's almost twenty-
she's gonna make it big.

there's hope in that baby's eyes.
the one whose sister died in the womb.
the one whose daddy don't care no more.
he's gonna build a castle of love.

there's hope in that baby's eyes.
when her mama was beat-
that baby survived.
her daddy's a nasty man, but she ain't going nowhere.
cause she's got hope in her eyes.

we've got hope in all of our eyes.
power stronger than a million words of hate.
we don't listen to them, don't listen to their lies.
we were all little babies once-
little children, with hope in our little baby eyes.
