They Had Everthing in Common

They Had Everything in Common

All those who believed
What grace they received
Because they had everything in common

And everyone knew that this was true,
That the wealth and the rings and all other things
Belonged not to one but to all of them

And with all of their might the apostles
Taught right, of the resurrection of our true Lord,
And the grace the received for believing their King
Helped them to be discerning

All the rich in the land made their own plans
And sold their houses for money,
With the coins in their hands
They did something grand
For they gave them to the needy

Now those who were poor were poor no more,
Because of the grace of our Lord
They were all blessed and so this I stress
All those who believed
What grace they received
For they had everything in common
