Things That Haunt Me Every Day

The last time I saw you, you were even whiter than snow.
All the crying I did when you did not show.

Missing you as I crossed the stage.
All of my outspoken rage.

How my heart fell apart
At my wedding just before the start.

The babies born you never got to see,
Plus every holiday with you that never got to be.

Hurting you at any chance to get even
Because I felt like you were always leaving.

I'm sorry, Mama, but I needed to say
All the things that haunt me every day.
